We know how good pollies are at keeping promises, but IF the proposed Kal 50MW/500MWh is built and if AVL wins the tender.
AVL will need a much larger electrolyte plant than 33MWh p/a at Wangara.( a few if's and maybe's in this paragraph)
Why not build a much larger electrolyte plant in the Goldfields. It would be more central to mine sites and regional towns than suburban Perth.
Each MWh of storage = approx 68,000 litres of electrolyte, 50% H20/50%H2So4.
34,000l of H20 * 1.0 SG...... = 34,000 kg
34,000l of H2S04 * 1.84 SG = 62,560 kg
9.89t V2O5 * 1000................= 9,890 kg
total..........................................= 106,450 kg * 500 =53,225,000kg or 53,225 tonnes electrolyte for 500 MWh battery.
A "B" double fuel truck load is 68kl, but diesel SG is 0.84 = 57 tonnes approx half the weight of a MWh of electrolyte.
If, (that word again) a battery was sold to the east coast maybe rail could be used.AIMO.
