From that news story in the West: “Mr Cook and Mr Whitby said the project would be entirely WA-focused, with vanadium to be mined from one of the world’s largest deposits near Meekatharra from 2027, and all the construction and installation work to be done in the State.”
And the point from Reece that the Kununurra battery is working well being a factor; “(The Kununurra trial) is working well, and that’s helping inform us how the vanadium battery will work in the Goldfields.”
Doesn’t actually add up to a case for the Lumina battery - which lacks even an officially finalised design - being the chosen one to be installed at scale in just four years?
…. Non sequitur aside, the case for AVL being involved in this ‘no names’ ‘if Labour is reelected’ news still seems very strong?
And as far as WHICH battery goes?
I guess Invinity has the runs on the board in Australia with both the South Australian battery that’s been around since June 2023 and the Kununurra one mentioned in the report .

Or maybe it will be the new Ken Brinsden-backed AVESS energy that would get the VFB battery contract with its fully tested Korean KORID batteries? (That one has just completed Round Two funding and has a bright new web page).
