The bloke is an absolute f*cking potato. To produce 1 tonne of lithium carbonate, ~1.147 tonnes of lithium chloride is required. So there's roughly 15% more material to be transported. That's hardly "uneconomical supply chain costs" and "order of magnitude greater volume of concentrate".
