I would like to think the scoping study would be around September, there is going to be constant optimization of the Mets but that can roll over into the PFS.
The PFS is a more robust version of the Scoping Study, for example,
- The Resource requires more infill and be upgraded to measured.
- Mine fleet selection & Operational strategies
- Mine Closure planning initiation
- Bulk sample & Pilot scale metallurgical testing
- Recovery studies
The list is extensive, but they likely have various elements in the pipeline at different stages. The process can be accelerated with additional capital. The $86 million should sustain operations for 2–3 years, by which time they could be midway through or even have completed the DFS. However, the DFS could be a significant expense. Unlike LYNAS, which required extensive studies due to the complexity and uniqueness of its process, WA1 has already produced a specification-grade concentrate in its initial metallurgical testing. Now, they primarily need to focus on optimization and scaling. A pilot plant operation could be established for approximately $2–5million.
