It seems that you have a minor interest in the renewable sector, and that is very your choice. However, perhaps a better update with regard to the current situation in the Australian Biofuels sector, and specifically the opportunities in the same might be beneficial. I would be more than happy to assist in that education process
Australia has a very high per capita consumption of mineral diesel (some 18 billion litres per year), with about half of that being imported. The current installed capacity of the Biodiesel industry is about 2.5% of that required capacity, and given the increasing demand for fuel (and cost of the same), then it would seem that Australia will move to the sort of levels of using renewable fuel as in say europe, there the usage is at roughly 30%
As with many nascent industries, there have been problems during the implementation of the same, but to make any linkage between SWW (or the prior ABJ) and ARW is simply not correct. The fact that there was (I believe) an "Engelsman" at ABJ at some time is a coincidence but not a relation.
With regard to the anti-dumping question, perhaps it would be worth noting that the US Congress approved the recent "employment" legislation, and in the same granted a US$ 1 per gallon tax credit for the biodiesel industry. In Australia, we have no such credit, and in fact we have to compete directly with mineral imported product -- and sell to the industry without any premium for the green credits that are generated by the same.
The local Biodiesel industry has worked hard with regard to being able to generate value and returns to the investors in the same, and with the continued focus on the opportunities for growth, the industry will generate market level returns. Major transport and mining companies are moving to a renewable based fuel due to the obvious benefits of the same.
I might also point out that one of the opportunities in Australia lies with the option of next generation feed stocks, where both saline tolerant plantations as well as algea are well advanced, and make excellent low cost feed stocks for the growing biodiesel sector.
So -- you may not be a supporter of the industry, but at least it might be appropriate to have the correct information in available for consideration.
With currently some 100 million litres of annual capacity installed in Australia, ARW is well positioned with regard to this growing market
