I have no doubt Trump will achieve some +ve things in his term..... but what good is achieved with picking a fight with China?

Xi isn't being aggressive toward US or Aus or Pacific Islands. I'm heading to be devil's advocate here. but imo the real devil is Trump.

would Trump stand up for Taiwan if China invaded?

China has done some pretty appalling things over the last decade in particular, but as we've found much of the aggro is merely showing "face".

appeasement does no good and often harm. but picking fights does much more harm and does no good.
