For all those people who think there was no recent financial crisis, that world war II didn't happen, that the human population is not growing too large too quickly (and that no-one in the world is poor or hungry), that avian influenza did not kill anyone, that viruses cannot mutate into more virulent forms, that earth has an infinite supply of easily extractable low cost fossil fuels, that unrestricted markets never cause any problems for any person, that any government intervention in the market is bad, that all government services and infrastructure should be scrapped and provided by the private sector, I ask:
what would convince you that:
the world is not made of cheese?
earth is not flat, but almost spherical?
people have landed on the moon?
if a plane is flown into a building, it can cause it to collapse?
there is a disease known as HIV / AIDS that can kill people?
there is a credible scientific explanation for why an apple leaving a tree usually falls downwards?
about eighty years ago, an engineer was instrumental in alerting us to the dangers of using the air we breathe as a waste dump for greenhouse gas waste, basing his calculations on the known physical properties of greenhouse gases?
