There is a Government stick at play this year which requires the importers of new vehicles to select an overall model mix which achieves a lower overall fuel consumption benchmark.
This means that some of the low volume fuel guzzlers will have to be phased out or importers will have to add more BEVs/PHEVs to the import mix to hit the benchmark.
