I found this report regarding San Jorge. It briefly talks about the coal formations in Cordoba and the formations can be seen in the image in TRH's coal acquisition announcement (Page 3). The research paper I posted on this thread ( the Coal Chain in Colombia - energy source for the world) lists the BTU of Cordoba coal and this matches with the performance related shares component in the coal acquisition announcement (ie 5 million fully paid ordinary Transit Shares on the publication of a JORC compliant Total Resource of at least 2 billion tonnes in respect of the Cordoba Project, of which at least 500 million tonnes shall be in Indicated Resources and at least 200 million tonnes shall be in Measured Resources, with the average quality of raw coal being no less than 9,450BTU on an As Received basis)
Below is the Quality of Colombian Coal according to 3 Cordoba coal producing zones. The first number is BTU/lb where as the last number is kcal/kg.
In relation to the Geological formations: ie "Formations which carry coal are Formacin Cinaga de Oro and Formacin Cerrito. Studies indicate that there is coal in that section which vary in rank from high bituminous to Volatile C up to sub-bituminous A, B and C, non binder and apt to thermal use, with calorific power between 4.835 and 5.156 cal/gr"
