"I absolutely detest cruelty of any kind. I also eat meat. If an animal is humanely treated and humanely killed, I don't have a problem"

ask yourself, "why do i believe that?"

perhaps visit a slaughter house (i have), and imagine that it someone that you love.
there is a lot that goes on that is not mentioned.
books and covers can be two different things.

or click on my sig below.

why is it ok to "humanely" kill any other being except a human?

why should we care about any other being on this planet?

why should any other being care about us? (yes, contrary to popular belief, there is enough examples of non-humans putting their well-being on the line for a human).

if you have glimpsed behind the scenes you will see that it's all connected, and the notion of a seperate self is an illusion.
there is a good reason why the world is the way it is.

i don't have any "pets", but there little spider that has lived on "my" window for 3 months.
it is amazing what can happen once we respect life, regardless of what form it comes in.

one may discover that to be truely selfish one would do well to cultivate, or realize, a compassionate attitude towards all beings.
    it has far reaching effects.
why does someone "impulsivley" run into a burning house or a raging torrent to save someone else, human or otherwise?

it is good to notice that the treatment of sheep by middle eastern countries, and live exports, is not ok.
    but why stop there?
it is like digging a little hole and discovering a few pieces of gold, then getting up, walking away, and digging again in some unknown hard ground somewhere else far away.

if nothing else, a reminder to myself.
    thankyou.
