I had a 5.32kW system with 5kW inverter set up on our shed in November. Got the first bill from Synergy yesterday. Taking out the one-off cost for the meter upgrade and the rebate application, my energy bill has gone from $500 in 2 months to $70. If I save $400 every 2 months (and I know it will fluctuate throughout the year but using this as an average) then I save $2,400 a year. System pays for itself in about 8 years, based on todays energy costs. If it rises, then the payoff will be slightly shorter.
