As for TZL, am I disappointed to have participated in the rights issue and now be a fair way under water? Yes and no. I've been underwater for years now so am not losing sleep over it.

To what extent is it a function of overall current market sentiment, (resources aside), the company's apparent unwillingness to promote itself on the ASX, perceived better opportunities elsewhere, or general lack of significant news on the various initiatives they have underway? I'd suggest it's a bit of everything.

Certainly the fall in SP is on comparatively light volume, and not the result of the deluge of Pattersons clients cashing in their chips as we were led to believe would happen. The vast bulk of the so-called "overhang" remains.

So, no great rush of buyers, but no great tidal wave of sellers either, significantly no huge stops being triggered, (at least not the kind I've seen in other holdings of late), so we exist in a kind of torpor weighted to the downside in the absence of ground-breaking news.

That could change in a flash. One decent announcement would do it, followed by another and then another. Will we get it? I damn well hope so! When? Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Will the overhang then sell into any rise? No doubt some will. I can't say how many will because I'm not them. I know I won't, because, despite the current unpleasantness, I still believe in the company/products, and am an investor not a trader. That said, if someone came in with a halfway decent offer, I'd be sorely tempted.
