My guess is that most recent drop on Monday last week is a bit of a glitch in reporting which happens every now and again when institutions don't report in time.
If I am correct then the short data for the next day will show a rebound to kind of similar levels as before the drop. My guess is that shorts were around 3 to 3.5% at the end of last week, which is still historically low for A2M.
