    Agree, Yogi, also the horrific evaporation rate has obviously not been taken into account by the "boffins".
    A pipeline is the only way to go, and it need not be as long as the one planned.
    There is heaps of water in the Wiluna Basin, and borefields up there pumped into the Perth - Kalgoorlie pipeline would provide all the water needed- at both ends.

    Actually, Annaconda found and developed a system of borefields to provide water for their lateritic nickel projects west of Leinster to Geraldton and east to the Officer Basin.
    There is no need to go to the Pilbara.

    If only those in power would settle down and listen.
    Remember, they get Brownie Points for commissioning projects of great magnitude, when sometimes projects of considerably lesser magnitude ( especially cost-wise) do the trick.
