Valid- but some of these big 4 banks have about 40% down (in sp) until they reach a reasonable mean trend again. They have been priced for perfection, and it would appear to me that slowly but surely investors are realising that the Aus economy is not in great shape - i mean 0.8% gdp, is pathetic. Housing market is obviously robust (aussie property...), but people are borrowing more than ever, and holding more debt than ever in the household. Anyway - we all know this. 'Safe as houses'. Also just comparitivly the P/E's on these big 4 banks are almost 30-40% higher than some of the highest quality banks globally - not that fundementals seem to matter anymore. Rant over.
