clearing up the (deliberate) confusion, page-25

I said it was posted by some people who I would consider neither rampers nor derampers, and people I would generally trust to not to lie on the BB's. Some said they'd heard that $50m had been quoted, and I wouldn't see a reason to disbelieve them.

As you say, we don't 'know' the original quoted price, except that whatever it was, AOI considered it too high. The question is will they have managed to get a rig cheaper? (in light of recent oil price gains, which according to the basic law of supply and demand, should mean more explorers are wanting to drill because of the increased rewards).

I'd concede that todays announcement means they may have found a cheaper drilling contractor, only because money clearly isn't such an issue for them anymore as they're willing to let us off with $15m of the costs for Dharoor, suggesting that they've saved themselves some cash on the drilling contract. But I don't count chickens before they're hatched and that's just speculation at this point. They might not have a quote for a rig yet- we don't know whether the negotiations have proceeded as far as a cost quote yet.

As always, I'll wait for an official announcement before getting excited. We have had numerous false dawns before, remember. If this proves to be the real deal this time, then great, I'm sure we'd all be happy with the share price going up.
