I am betting that RFK can see through this charade that protects the inferior drugs that are netting BP tens of billions each year. Under a "right to try" regime, safe drugs that demonstrate significant early efficacy could be used by registered Oncologists and other registered Doctors (in conjunction with proper disclosures to the patient) so that sick people don't have to be at the whim of the BP/FDA juggernaut. I would expect that within a month or two, the DOGE review of the FDA will ensure that many of of the wealthy mandarins in the senior FDA echelons are given their marching orders. Subsequently, it should be possible to invigorate vibrant science culture in the organisation such that the brutal blockading of emerging drugs becomes an ugly phenomenon of the past.
