Respected energy analyst Peter Strachan just put out his weekly newsletter with TXN as a buy with a 90c valuation. That could help explain the sudden jump.
Strachan's bulletin, StockAnalysis, is subscription so I won't post any further details of his analysis but needless to say it takes into account the recent results yet is still positive. I'm a recent subscriber but would highly recommend StockAnalysis, particularly for those interested in energy and mining stocks. And no, I'm not on the payroll. But he's worth a plug, given I'm quoting him - albeit in very brief detail.
