    Jantimot, there is an implicit acceptance in the study that climate change is happening. If you feel the need to accept the conclusion that death rates are declining, which is clearly the case, you also have to accept the underlying assumption for the study that climate change is happening.

    As for "why does global warming matter"?

    Are you serious??

    How about the potential for these events to occur:

    - reduced bio-diversity due to species extinction
    - reduced crop yields
    - melting and retreating glaciers affecting the clean water supply for billions of people
    - reduced Greenland and polar ice cap extents, increasing sea levels
    - increased sea levels due to oceanic thermal expansion
    - increased ocean acidification due to raised CO2 levels
    - more extreme weather events
    - more droughts in some areas
    - more floods in other areas
    - plus if we pass a tipping point, then the above could be accelerated with us having no control

    ...and I'm sure there may be others since that was off the top of my head.
