Bolide - Jasper is siliceous (high in silica and varying Fe) and is usually in a 'chert' unit - looks like red porcelain almost. Jasper is also sold as rocks in your local 'alternative' shop and I imagine that would be a polished piece of good rock...

From my limited Fe exploration, it would be prohibitively expensive processing Fe from chert (might as well mine the red dirt!!)

Magnetite mines require billions of tonnes for management to be able to approach investors with a long term business case. Unlike haematite (or DSO), magnetite requires significant crushing, screening and milling in order to economically extract the iron.

On the fence at the moment - need more geological information and definitely will need more than a few drillholes to prove up a lazy billion tonnes :p
