Show me where Abbott said he would do nothing for QLD ?

The reason the ALP is in such a mess is claims such as "... come hell or high water, we will be in surplus by 2012-13 ..." from our Treasurer. To not deliver on that promise would be political suicide.

The budget must be in more trouble that we think since the govt cannot absorb a few billion here or there. Why not use those funds in the budget that have not been allocated to a specific project, for contingencies just like this ?

We keep getting told that the debt we have is a drop in the ocean compared to other countries, only small % of GDP, blah, blah.

I can only think that there is some more revenue shortfalls coming out way.

We had the stimulus package, now we have the "opposite of stimulus" - not sure what you would call it
