Anyone else performs as badly at their job as he does at his of supposedly scoring runs would be out of a job or at the very least on notice and back being retrained.
So why isn't he sent back to State cricket until he scores runs - his job - consistently?? Why do we have this protected species in the Australian Cricket team??
They are all paid big $$$ to do a job. When they don't perform don't reward them. He says he is working hard in the nets. Well buddy whatever you are doing is not working and hasn't been for ages. Giving some of these young blokes a go through forced injury to Ponting and Hussey has shown up some of these old hacks who are just biding time. Both replacements scored hundreds something the two they replaced have been struggling to do (Hussey until the recent test series).
Give Clarke long enough and he will score that 100 and all will be good again for another 18 months whilst some young gun is over looked and never gets an opportunity.
Either perform or move on.
All that said am enjoying see these new faces get a crack and make the most of it - great stuff.
