Pretty good WDS result. I wasn't expecting much but pretty good regardless.
Honestly. I think this is shaping to be one of the worst reporting season on the ASX200 earning wise. We can see the follow on impact on the dividends.
I can count on 1 hand the ones that's increase interim div this reporting season - CBA, S32, NST, EVN... that's it. 3 of those are not really divvy stocks. If you listen to the other big 3 banks trading updates they have softer earnings and subsequent divvies too. We have a hell of an economic environment moving forward in Australia.
I'm glad WDS is in the portfolio even with the softer share price. We all know why the SP is soft and it is not for a fundamental reason. It is because WDS is in a dirty industry. People need to realise that the solution will need to involve oil and coal at the very least for the transition phase. We can't all go green today, right here, right now. The economics just does not make it possible.
