how to get started?

There have been several good suggestions on these forums with regards to starting out in share trading and learning to pick good companies.

I wanted to know a step by step process if possible on how to start to learn about all this.

For e.g. which 3 books in order of preference would I need to buy to get a start on how to evaluate stocks?

Any websites, software, anything you can recommend will be welcome ...

How to discover stocks, by reading ublications such as AFR maybe, pick up hints in the news, anything will be appreciated.
