I think that the selfish undertones on threads like this are a good indication of the way that posters on the politics forum really feel. I don't think its necessary to point out that most of them are liberal party voters.... but I will.
The fact that you are whinging over a 0.5% once off levy says it all. The fact is that while some people out there would have donated money to the various charities, most Australians wouldn't have.
This is a fare way of everyone chipping in to help out people in need. I think that for Tony Abbott trying to turn this into something it's not, and i quote "a great big new tax", shows how careless his party is. Something has to be done and it has to be done quick, and for him to stand in the way says alot.... And the fact that most people here support him says alot more.
