Scitty you obciously don't get it, no I wouldn't bid more than the other guy just to get the property at auction, unless it was a screaming bargain of course! Negative Gearing is stupidity, why would you buy something that is going to cost you money? Yes, some people are coerced or convinced to buy a property through tax breaks, but that is not real smart. Unless the property increases in value they go now where. Yes I and thousands of others have property investments that are rented by folk who either cannot afford to buy, or choose to rent. They do not want to wait two years to have a State provided home, they prefer to look after them selves. If you have never bothered, just check out the standard of accomodation offered by your state Government, really nice, real choice!
That aside, private enterprise carries this country, not Government. Government earns no money, only takes money. If the Government was so foolish to ever try the Keating trick again they will fall flat on their face. Love to see it actually...................
