Hello. I have no idea about the USA venture because it makes no sense to me. Where will they get the ore from to produce 3,000tpa of HRE, unless they will produce Yttrium, which currently sells for US$5.50/kg.
For example, Mt Weld I guess has been mining around 200,000 to 300,000 tonnes of ore per year. Mt Weld has 0.62% Dy and 0.16% Tb. These HRE do not recover very well. For example, the very old LYC BFS had 35% recovery for HRE. Lets be optimistic and say the recovery is 60%. To produce 3,000tpa from 7.2% Mt Weld ore would require 8,903,134 tonnes of ore, i,,e, 8,903,134 x 7.2% x 0.78% x 60% = 3000 tonnes of Dy & Tb.
Put another way, LYC has 12,790 tonnes of Dy in its current ore reserve (although probably has 26,945 tonnes of Dy in total).
While i guess while the USA plant may not use Mt Weld ore (i don't know), I doubt it will producing 3,000 tpa pf Dy & Tb.
