it’s a shame there isn’t a kind of biotech equivalent of medicines Australia, abpi, efpia , a biotech ombudsman or review group composed of independent experts (operating under asic) who understand biotech, how clinical trials work etc and can adjudicate properly and early on communications if complaints or concerns are raised. That’s what happens in big Pharma world. Although usually it’s companies complaining about their competitors, you do frequently see individual doctors raise complaints about a company’s practice when they’re selling medicines. Its then adjudicated by eg medicine Australia in this country, abpi in uk etc. if BP is found in breach of codes of practice, fines can be massive.
Biotech is particularly complex, no disrespect but truth is very few investors really understand it, which explains why companies like this one get away with the comms they do. An independent panel for example would have known immediately that the claims the company was making about why Covid trial was taking so long to release results were fishy and would have had authority under ASIC to demand a please explain much sooner. Asx/asic simply not equipped with the technical expertise to understand all the nuances.
