Actually that surprising that SGS pulled its operations out of Townsville, you would think that there would have been enough exploration and mine work generated in North QLD to keep that facility open. It was state of the art when it was opened about 15 years ago.

If the assay results were out of spec (standards and blanks not performing or out of range) then that is a completely legitimate reason not to release the results and send them away to another lab, its an unusual and painful scenario and will be keeping my eye out with other North QLD based explorers to see if they have the same issue if they are/were SGS clients - the watchlist would have been SHN, PGO, NMR, BMR or SVG. But after studying the lab results from these companies just now it seems that only SPQ are SGS lab clients with all the rest of the companies mentioned above mostly using ALS (or their own mine site-based labs in the case of Ravenswood and Georgetown).

How can you blame SPQ? You write nonsense!

The good thing about the matter is that SPQ now suspects that the lab has been under-reporting:

'The assay errors resulted in a consistent under-reporting of the actual gold grades........significant errors.....'
