Trump recently clearly said on the world stage he wants a deal with the Ukraine whereby the US wants to secure their Rare Earth Minerals, he recently suspended miitary aid to them but now Zelensky caved in and will now sign the deal. Hopefully this also might bring peace to the region and end the war.
RE US , during Trumps speech to joint congress, he was quite direct on acceleration and protection of Rare Earth Minerals in the US, whether you like him or not.
