No...I wouldn't expect this news to make any sp difference (unlike the spud date ann)...many will prefer this rig, and it takes Shell's 50% ownership of the MODU to be used out of the "self interest" category.
Will cost a bit more though.
Noble Phoenix current day rate to Shell is US$306K/day, the Atwood Falcon is US$431K/day. Both working down off Sabah/Sarawak.
Shell have had the Falcon contract extended to Nov 2011 or Jan 2012, and is interesting to note that the day rate for her changes to US$300K/d from Aug 2011.
Project may yet not be delayed...previous window March to May, current ann. states on site (ready to drill) mid April - end May.
