President of the Currumbin Surf Lifesaving ClubJohn Brennan says the club near where this was filmed has already found itself “water bound”.

“We’ve got water all around us, the club sits on a rock out towards the water. As of lunch time we’ve lost the carpark, all our roller doors at ground level have blown in, so now we’re just waiting to see what the next few days will bring.”

Mr Brennan says the size of the swell is worrying.

“We don’t know but they’re saying it could get up to 8 to 10 metres. We’ve seen the damage that it’s doing at say 4 and 5 metres.”

I've had a fair few beers and lunches at that Surf Club, it goes underwater with every half decent storm.
It's built on the beach.

Some resturant at Burleigh much the same which i've also dined at.
