Yes, the troiubled Westpac Bank, nearly fell over during the 1990's recession we had to have, but for a another Govt intervention and bailout. Wasn't the former CEO Peter King, recruited and appointed specifically for major reforms to the WBC culture? Nothing much to show for more than four years in the job. As at the time of posting, WBC sp underperforming the broader market.

Even the ALP said at the time of the bank guarantee that they were giving a bailout.
