The Israelis have had it all their own way for far too long. The US/Israel axis supported Mubarak's suppression of Pan Arabism for many years through a brutal dictatorship that supported torture and summary arrest and cowed the Egyptian nation. The barricade of Gaza could not have happened without Mubarak. He was the US/Israeli puppet and they supported him as long as it suited them. Now, cynically, they are cutting him loose as they have lost control. At last Egypt may have something approaching a democracy when all this is resolved. Talk about hypocrisy, the US espousing its desire to introduce democracy as a reason to invade Iraq when they supported an equally bad regime in Egypt.
