I see in the weekly a series of quickening sell downs to trigger a downtrend which never comes.
aggregate shorts grew strongly in Jan 2024 and have done steadily since:
4% of RMS short = ~$100M, purchased at or below $1.80
I think today we see some doubling down going on.
Does it reflect overvaluation? No, I think it reflects a foolish bet that the gold price would top at US$2000 and then they dug in deeper.
