Some further tidbits I recalled from Mondays meeting are:
1. The royalty range (i.e 7% to 12%) on GLE production was derived (in the early 200o's) on the basis that the competition would be using AVLIS (Atomic Vapor laser Isotope separation) which used metallic uranium as a feedstock. Metallic uranium is (or was) about 10% more expensive than UF6 so our royalty range was baaed around this 10% number
2. The "fair value" provision for the Cameco option on 26% option on GLE is at the request of either party subject to third party arbitration. MG said that they are not concerned about whether Cameco take up their option or not
3. The production of Ytterbium 176 (176Yb) for the MIST project has been delayed due to selection of a suitable gas compound of Yb to be used in the isotope to be used as feedstock in the MIST project. MG said that SLX thought they had now found a suitable gaseous compound of Yb to start trials. NB I suspect (only my supposition) that they will be adapting the ZS Si test rig but that will need new/modified lasers to provide the Yb compound v3 frequency
4. The 5Mlbs/yr UF6 production from the PLEF is constrained only by the amount of tailing the DoE is willing to provide. GLE could increase that production (obviously with more capex on plant) if the DoE was to allow that. Also lower assay UF6 tailing may also be available from other DoE tailings sites (e.g Ohio etc) or third parties. MG said that the existing UF6 tailings at the PLEF were the equivalent of a tier 1 Uranium mine.. MG said existing buildings at the PLEF were completely unsuitable for GLE use. Paducah/Kentucky politician and local sentiment was very supportative of the PLEF (i.e Kentucky has 2 Republican senators in the US senate who are unlikely to vote on motions not supporting the PLEF)
I may remember more tidbits
From this morning news of universal tariff of 25% to the US (presumably 10% for energy) will give GLE an edge against UF6 imports from any importer to the USA.
