ct, even reading the latest 2011 Trends Journal clearly shows me we aren't in the same boat at all. Gerald Cilente is still shouting it from the roof tops - but the many lucid examples he gives indicate the US boat is rotten to the core but with every election is given a new coat of paint for public viewing.

we might all be in boats (rb here has his own) but they are not the same by any stretch and each will take longer to submerge.

You can't see the waterline of Japan, UK and the US. One day history might realise Japan was indeed the pre-cursor to the US in that the actions/responses have been virtually the same - not surprising since the US restructured Japan following WW2 as made it the first miracle economy ... just like the US was. There is more to the JPY and USD carry trades for history to be revealed.

This link of Detroit is excellent photography, even though many places have been derelect for years -
    Detroit in ruins - photographs
    - there is some magnificent architecture going to waste there

It is time to join the chorus in calling the US a 'has been' in all reality. It's only the politicians who are ignorant enough not to realise it.

The vindictiveness of the US market makers is almost predictable nowdays, coupled with a lack of meaningful regulation - I like that they can push markets up and down at their own will.

It may end badly for sure, but not as bad for some.
