Any gibberer can get on social media sites like this one and sprout conspiracy theories, pseudo-science and a bountiful buffet of bullsh*t.
It's just a question of filtering out the unqualified, unproven rantings of enthusiastic amateurs.
Call me old-fashioned if ya like, but I find the most valuable information emanates from specialised scientific sources who have studied, are experienced and actually know what they're talking about.
The most valuable quality of social media sites like Hotcopper is they serve as a powerful reminder that there is a diverse plethora of opinionated polarised points of view out there in our wide wonderful world and everyone is entitled to broadcast their opinions, no matter how ignorant.....(with the possible exception of hate speech promoting violence.)
Sometimes, it's a valuable time investment to step back from it all......and take a deep breath......"Sometimes ya gotta come down off the mountain in order to see the mountain".
