Would Stamler do everything within his power and influence to avoid a takeover.
Another biotech I own is led by a CEO (also Chairman of BOD - so, poor/no governance) who has refused to sell, much less partner with BP and give up royalties. SP has lost 80% of value this year, and 99.8% of value since he assumed Board Chair in 2002. His gravy train has kept plugging along, though. Hired unqualified family members, etc. I know Stamler not that type of CEO, but is he motivated to maximize shareholder value over his personal ambitions? The CR made me wonder...
