Anyone with cattle ends up sending product to the US. Cull cows and trimmings all end up there for their hamburger meat. The US has a massive feedlot industry and grain fed reigns supreme. They end up with a lot of fat which they mix with the lean product from Australia to produce the hamburger patty. Cows have been excellent up til now as the US cattle herd has been severely impacted by drought. Yes we have one son coming home next Thursday. No point going in too soon as it is still very wet.
