    the reason I brought up googles takeover of NEST is that it wasn't a perfect deal, but still a huge valuation. technology can be intergrated into other products meaning it is valuable. even if there are not many sales yet, social media problems etc etc.

    a camera startup was purchased for 555M USD, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dropcam.
