@Connex I can’t possibly see how I misunderstood your post. You made two clear examples where a suitor made a knockout bid of 8 X the prevailing market cap of NEU.
One scenario was where the share price had been allowed to rise to a decent MC under normal market conditions and fluctuations prior to a 8 x MC knockout bid.
The other scenario was where the share price was suppressed and manipulated down to a low price prior to a 8 x MC knockout bid.
What am I missing? Because regardless of scenario, acquirers never pay 8 x a prevailing MC. It’s fantasy.
P.S. Regarding the recent resurgence of @LittleT (who I personally have found his/her posts to be insightful and valuable over the journey). can I humbly suggest that people not treat anonymous posters on the interweb like messiahs (apart from @hottod hahaha).
I’m not sure what’s going on, but previously Littlet was uber-positive on timelines, valuations, TO scenarios, and company expectations for a long period. They disappeared from Hotcopper for a few months but have re-emerged with a distinct change in demeanour and narrative, which includes lower fair valuations and using negative phrases such as putting lipstick on a pig.
Do your own extensive research and due diligence people. Take in all opinions (uber-positive, balanced and negative) and run your own race. I’m still very positive on NEU, I’m long on the stock, and I’m still regularly buying at these low valuation prices.
