I suspect coupled with the irrational approach to policy - maybe deliberate - the more important numbers to watch are GDP growth and Consumer Sentiment. The first because government spending cuts add quite a bit GDP and the latter because Consumerism makes up 70% of the US Market and the last print was a sharp decline.
That is without factoring in any issues with inflation, geopolitical risk and US local political risk.
China's statement about supporting growth is obviously good for the local miners, but lets see how that pans out.
