During the rebalancing window there are many index tracking traders at work re-weighting their own portfolios. Some are public and some are very much private. What they all have in common however is that they all feed off the volatility created by the other. Local and Global. ETFs. CFDs. Stocks. Options. Shorts. Puts. Calls. During these times I remain cautious and look deeper at abnormal turnover as indicative of potential managed influence including any (possible) cross-country variation. This influence can be both higher and or lower than what may be considered normal. Opinions mine and mine only of course!
