Nothing strange about that bid/ask if you ask me.

The opening/closing auctions match up all the unders and overs and match them at the price where everything clears.
They start with each order and match them up with the other side until they run out of trades where the prices overlap.

It's something that people will do to shove a low price to sell or a high price to buy if they definitely want that trade to be done. So long as your volume isn't big enough to make it the matching price it'll match above you.

The large caps are much more of a dogs breakfast, the bids and asks will overlap by $1 or more in some cases.
If you look at Commsec on the website during the auction phase it'll show you the expected matching price.

For your example, the aftermarket auction matched at 6.4c.

Here's yesterday's match sales.
If you look at the bottom two rows they add up to the first order of 41,812, then the next 3 add up to 44,770, done at 6.4c.
