It was within the framework of the Interprovincial Treaty of the Lithium Mining Region that the presidents signed a joint act that declares of strategic interest the project of electrification of the Puna proposed by the companies YPF Luz and Central Puerto. The initiative contemplates the construction of high-voltage power lines and transformer stations (ET) that will boost the energy supply of mining projects and the communities of Catamarca and Salta.

This electrical infrastructure project will have an initial investment of 400 million dollars for the construction of the High Voltage interconnected, in a length of 300 kilometres from the Kachi Project in Antofagasta de la Sierra to Santa Rosa de los Pastos Grandes in the Salta puna. This interconnection will allow electric transport in a capacity of 350 MW, benefitting all communities and projects in the area.

Jalil also celebrated the initiative on his networks. "This is a historic agreement because it will guarantee supply to more Catamarca and Salta homes, and to the mining production complex that we share with Salta, in which more companies generate quality jobs," he said.
