Without wanting to get too political, I disagree. I would normally be a Liberal voter, but I refuse to support anyone mirroring Donald Trump's policies, however subtle that mirroring may be. Way to many idiots have already been emboldened to speak up by the MAGA movement, and we don't need any more of that here.
Personally, I don't give a sh*t about identity politics, it has zero effect on my day to day life. I also don't really care if I have to pay electricity bills that are a few hundred dollars more either. These are all sideshows to the true existential crisis for Australian society, which is the housing crisis. And neither of the major political parties are taking action on it, they're both still feeding the Ponzi scheme.
So my vote will go to whoever presents a coherent plan to tackle housing, and right now, that's the greens. I might think they're broadly a bunch of lunatics, but even if I don't agree with them, I'd rather vote for someone who stands for something, rather than stands for nothing. A vote for either of the two major parties is just a populist race to the bottom of "what's in it for me"....
At some point we're going to have to stop robbing future generations, and I'd prefer to be able to look my kids in the eye and explain to them that I don't support the selfishness and short-sightedness of the two major parties, who have no interest in their future.
