So many people are sitting on either side of the fence, arguing their point, that the renewable v existing energy sources argument/debate is becoming quite boringly stupid and mundane.

The fact is that energy is energy, no matter where it comes from. That has been a basic scientific principle for eons. Energy can be created from many many sources. Choosing just one over another for personal financial gain is what has tied our economies up in knots for far too long.

I could not care one iota where the energy comes from as long as it doesn’t involve killing, raping, pillaging, plundering. (Arguably what most of our governments have been systematically doing for decades really).

All forms should be embraced right now until one or more can sustainably manage the world’s needs indefinitely on their own, which IMO is highly unlikely in our lifetimes.

We in Australia are getting embroiled in our little squabbles over how nasty the solar panels look in the desert, or how big spinning fans might kill birds or knock down friendly alien craft, or how the north west shelf gas reserve might kill a few bees over in Madagascar (I made that bit up fyi), YET, over in China, where there are over 1.4 billion more people than in Australia, they are now nearly 43% energy reliant on renewables, solar and wind. Now last time I watched documentaries on China, their landscapes as vast as they are, are just as beautiful today as they were prior to renewables, and their renewable input dwarfs our efforts so far. Admittedly, their people skills could vastly improve, but technology wise they are grabbing the bull by the horns.

We need to just get on with it. Gas, renewables, oil, battery storage, nuclear at some point. All of it. Energy is energy.

    Stupid arguments. IMO.
