PMET were just fortunate to get in a year ahead of WR1, allowing a meteoric rise in their SP to over C$17 and to raise capital along the way at much higher prices with less dilution than WR1. Had they started when we did they'd be in pretty much the same boat as us now, irrespective of how great their resource might look. You're right that they have major issues to overcome that he didn't talk about. I'm not even sure that battery cell prices becoming way cheaper in China is such great news. Sure it should mean more units produced and sold, and therefore more demand for lithium - but will it result in the necessary much higher price for lithium, or will the cheapest producers around the world expand to fill the void?
