Yes well shorting (as I understand things) relies largely upon a quiet market prone to dips. Ai has responded with this advice re fighting against shorting.

Stopping or reducing shorting in a company you hold shares in can be challenging, but there are a few strategies you might consider:

    1. Direct Action with Your Broker: You can request your broker not to lend out your shares for short selling. This is often possible if you hold your shares in a cash account rather than a margin account.

    2. Certificate Your Shares: By converting your shares into physical certificates, they are no longer held in a brokerage account and cannot be lent out for shorting. However, this may limit your ability to trade them quickly.

    3. Place Limit Orders: Some investors place high-limit sell orders on their shares. While this doesn't guarantee that your shares won't be lent out, it can reduce the likelihood.

    4. Engage with the Company: Shareholders can encourage the company to take actions that might deter short selling, such as increasing transparency, improving performance, or initiating share buybacks.

    5. Monitor Short Interest: Keep an eye on the short interest in the company. If it becomes excessive, it might indicate an opportunity for a "short squeeze," where short sellers are forced to buy back shares, driving the price up.

These steps can help reduce the impact of short selling, but they may not completely eliminate it.

I might ask for more details on any of these approaches!
Whilst there does not appear to be a lot of shorting, it is irritating and not at all welcome. Maybe we could consider the 5 steps promoted at least.
Of course Management might take the lead here?
